Aging audiences. Decreasing attendance numbers. A bold move to a novel performance space. We helped the Ottawa Symphony Orchestra (OSO) capitalize on these three factors to usher in a new era for the community orchestra.

A fresh look for a classic sound

We created a brand for the OSO that is unexpected and arresting—a brand that bridges the gap between young and old classical music aficionados. The look and feel is rooted in a strong understanding of the city’s emerging cultural landscape. We shifted OSO away from the rigid structure and aesthetics of traditional orchestras. We borrowed inspiration from the movement of sound to create a brand identity that ensures consistency, reinforces credibility and fosters trust with audiences—current and especially prospective.
